FEBRUARY 8 - APRIL 11, 2024 | LONDON (GBR)
‘Emerging Normativities’ is the theme of this year’s Public Lecture Series in Law, Governance, and Digital Technologies at Westminster University Law School. LoPH+ is a proud collaborator of this inaugural series.
ABOUT
Climate change is transforming both our physical reality and the political landscape, leading to a desire to transcend the Earth and fostering skepticism toward governments. This shift coincides with the rise of authoritarian regimes and an increase in conflicts worldwide. At the same time, cutting-edge technologies such as distributed ledgers, IoT, robotics, AI, and mixed reality challenge traditional forms of politics and law. This dynamic sets the stage for a new frontier in governance, currently being shaped both online and on the ground, often outside mainstream public and academic discussions.
This lecture series delves into the evolving landscape of law and governance, exploring how innovative tech-driven governance models, whether public or private, centralized or decentralized, are reshaping legal and political theories through jurisdictional design, legal experimentation, and democratization #blockchain #digitalhumanitarianism #startupcity #coordination #disasterresponse #p2p #commons #industry4 #hackeranarchism ##haiti #climatejustice #zanzibar #ethereum #zk #cooperation #phydigital #refi #tokenization #digitalnomads #web3 #popupcity #zuzalu #frontier #digitaldemocracy #financialization #metaverse #Palau #complicity
